  26. What's in the distribution?

  29. This distribution contains Voodoo drivers and control panel for 
  30. Windows 95/98. The DirectDraw portion of the drivers supports Direct3D 
  31. when using DirectX 7.0
  32.  
  33. NOTE: DirectX 7.0 redistributable files should be used with these 
  34. drivers!

  43. - Windows 95/98
  44. - PC with a Pentium, Pentium II, or Pentium Pro Processor and a free 
  45.   AGP or PCI slot
  46. - 16MB of RAM
  47.  
  48. Fresh Installation 
  49. ------------------

  51. NOTE: Complete Steps 1 and 2 before removing your existing 2D card.
  52.  
  53. 1) Extract the files for the Voodoo3 driver to a directory.
  54. 2) Before removing your existing 2D card switch the video driver to 
  55.    Standard VGA. Click Start, Control Panel. Double-click on Display.
  56.  
  57.    Select 640X480 and 16 colors.  Accept the changes.
  58.  
  59. 3) Power off the system and remove your existing 2D card.
  60. 4) Install the Voodoo Card in a free AGP or PCI Slot
  61. 5) Power on the system and verify that video appears during post.
  62. 6) Start Windows in Normal mode
  63.  
  64.   (Once Windows starts you may be notified that no video device
  65.    exists, click Cancel if this message appears)

  67. 7) Go to the directory where you put the Voodoo driver, run the executable
  68.    file.  Click SETUP.  At the welcome screen of 3dfx Tools,
  69.    select NEXT.  Click on YES when prompt to install Voodoo Driver.
  70. 8) Follow instruction on the screen to install Voodoo Driver and 3dfx Tools
  71.    Control Panel.
  72. 9) Select 'Yes, I want to restart my computer now' when prompted.
  73. 10) Install DirectX 7.0.

  76. Upgrade Existing Voodoo3 Drivers

  79. 1) Start Windows 95/98
  80. 2) Extract the files for the Voodoo driver to a directory.

  104. Change monitor selection on display properties page by following the 
  105. following instructions:

  107. * Right click on desktop and select properties from the drop down menu

  109. * Click on the settings tab and select advanced 
  110.  
  111. * Choose monitor tab

  113. * Select change

  115. * Follow the instructions and change to either PnP (Plug and Play) or 
  116.   the exact model of the monitor
